2021 Board Nominees

Here are the bios for our 2021 board nominees, listed in alphabetical order. Voting will take place at the year-end meeting on December 6.

Stella Grey

My husband and I have lived in the area since 2003. Up until recently I worked full -time and did not have a chance to enjoy my neighborhood. When I finally retired four years ago I realized that the neighborhood was getting less enjoyable every day because of increased traffic, noise, dust and dirt caused by an unprecedented rate of construction in the Bird Streets.

It happened to be a perfect time for me to meet Stella Jeong and Ellen Evans and get involved with what soon became DSPNA.

My extensive experience as an engineering consultant and a project manager in the construction industry allows me to offer my expertise to the PLUM Committee and to the Construction Enforcement Committee.  I currently participate on a daily basis in various initiatives and projects carried by the Association. I am also a member of the PLU committee at Bel Air Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council. I am fully committing my time and my heart to bettering our neighborhood and to increasing the Association's recognition beyond our boundaries.

Mitchell Guzik

I am currently a member of the DSPNA Board of Directors and have agreed to serve for another two-year term.

I am a native of Los Angeles and we have lived on Viewmont Drive since 1989.  I raised 5 children here who all attended the LAUSD. I believe in a strong sense of community and I am not afraid to challenge the consensus.  Our city needs to be more responsive to the needs of the tax-payers and help restore a safer environment that used to exist here.  I want to help do that. I am a local manufacturer and I employ 40 people at the company I run.  I feel the DSPNA will continue to make positive changes on our community.

Stella Jeong

I have been an active volunteer in the Los Angeles community for the past 20 years. What drew our family to the hillside was its serenity and beauty while a mere stone's throw from the vibrant LA scene. When we moved to the Bird Streets 11 years ago, the neighborhood was at the cusp of an unprecedented real estate boom where developers flocked to build enormous structures with little regard to the community around it. City Planning and land use ordinances favored development. I along with fellow neighbors decided to advocate for our beloved neighborhood, to uphold our quality of life, preserver its beauty and to work toward a safer hillside. I am proud to have played a pivotal role as the voice of our community and in helping to found the DSPNA, a gem of a neighborhood association. I hope to be able to continue to serve as a board member to represent our community in positive and constructive ways.

Vadim Levotman

Oksana and I have lived in the Bird Streets neighborhood for nearly a decade. We love it here. Over the years, quality of life slowly decreased, meanwhile out-of-control construction and crime increased. I had to get involved in the community.

Currently, I am serving on DSPNA board of directors. As a co-chair of the Security Committee, I spearheaded an establishment of a DSNPA Security Patrol program. As a co-chair Security Patrol Oversight Committee, I monitor and update security patrol protocols. As a Public Safety liaison to Bel Air-Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council, I am regularly in contact with LAPD Hollywood Division personnel.

As a CPA, I currently serve as your DSPNA treasurer. With our complex nonprofit accounting, I developed a unique accounting system that is very transparent and complies with regulatory statutes, which I carefully monitor.

There is a lot more work to be done. I am eager to serve our neighborhood in the same capacity for the next two years.

Patricia Murphy

I have lived in our home on Miller Driver with my wife and our wonderful dog Charley for 6 years.  In 2018, I joined the association and have supported the work of the DSPNA in a variety of ways, including volunteering to be on the Outreach Committee, assisting with the planning and presentation of the association’s Speaker Series, providing a location for a DSPNA Board meeting, and facilitating communication between local neighbors and the DSPNA.  I have also been able to support the activities of our local neighborhood as a member of the Bel Air Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council.

I am committed to supporting the work of DSPNA and to continuing my advocacy for our local neighborhood and community.

Sherry Taylor

I am a native Angelino who moved to the Bird Streets in 2018 from the Sunset Plaza area.  I have 20 years of experience working in various industries: e-commerce, entertainment, and now healthcare, as a startup founder and corporate executive. I specialize in unlocking new capabilities that bring positive, disruptive change. My passion for studying ecosystems (people, technology, nature) helps identify “win-win” opportunities with the greatest impact while benefitting the whole.

My favorite pastimes are tending to my food garden and wildlife habitat, playing soccer, bird watching, and raising Monarch butterflies. I love to share my bounty and trade produce with neighbors. We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful area integrated with nature.

As an active DSPNA member, I currently serve on the Outreach Committee. I have had the pleasure of collaborating on our logo & branding, building and maintaining the website, launching the security patrol program, and volunteering towards various DSPNA initiatives that improve the sanctity and serenity of our neighborhood.
