Join your neighbors by participating in DSPNA’s dedicated Security Patrol program!

LAPD is currently operating with reduced staff, and that situation will likely lead to more crime and longer response times in our area. Criminal justice reform may also lead to more unwanted activity on our streets. Some neighborhoods have already seen a significant uptick in crime. In addition, burglaries, which have been down during the pandemic, could increase again as workplaces begin to reopen.

We can make a difference by pooling our resources to establish a dedicated security patrol program.

This program will provide coverage by armed officers patrolling our neighborhood.

Patrol officers are highly-trained former law enforcement personnel who can address nuisance behavior and detain suspects.

Program participants can contact officers directly by phone or text.

Unlike security alarm companies services which service much larger areas, our local patrol officer can be at your residence in 10 minutes.

The program will initially include nightly patrol from 10 pm - 6:30 am, and we can add daytime shifts as we add more participants.

Since launching the program last summer in the Bird Streets, we’ve seen a significant decrease in crime and nuisance behavior. Armed security patrol makes thieves look elsewhere for targets.
