The Ridgeline Protection Ordinance would be introduced into the Los Angeles Municipal Code as a new Supplemental Use District (SUD) and applied to an initial geography in the hillside area of the Bel Air-Beverly Crest Community Plan and a portion of the Hollywood Community Plan. Application of this Supplemental Use District will offer enhanced protection for some of the City’s most prominent ridgelines; these are the natural crests of the mountains that bisect and surround the City. The proposed ordinance is designed to offer additional tools to help manage development in potentially sensitive ridgeline areas in order to protect and preserve these ecological and scenic resources.
During the webinar, City Planning staff will present the proposed Ridgeline Protection Ordinance concepts and take in your comments and questions.
